‘RHOSLC’ Star Lisa Barlow Claims Bronwyn Newport Is ‘Worse’ Than Jen Shah!
Lisa Barlow is stirring the pot once again on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, this time by daring to compare rookie Bronwyn Newport to the infamous Jen Shah, who’s currently serving time for scamming elderly victims.
Jen, a former star of the show, was arrested in March 2021 and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering after orchestrating a nationwide telemarketing scheme that defrauded thousands of vulnerable individuals out of their savings.
In July 2022, she pleaded guilty, and in January 2023, she was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. Jen began serving her sentence at the Bryan Federal Prison Camp in Texas on February 17, 2023, and as of January 2025, her sentence has been reduced, with her release now scheduled for November 2026.
Lisa’s latest comments, however, are raising eyebrows. In a recent heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter), Lisa didn’t hold back when responding to fans, claiming, “Yes, she is a snake and no better than Jen actually probably worse lying to people hurting people making up stuff that didn’t happen. It’s pretty sh*tty.”
Fans quickly pointed out that scamming elderly people out of their savings is far worse than a few lies from a rookie Housewife.
One user wrote, “Lisa, are you serious? Jen defrauded elderly people out of their savings, and you’re out here comparing that to a few lies from Bronwyn? This is a whole new level of delusion.”
Another fan chimed in, “Lying on TV is one thing, but ripping off seniors is a crime that impacts real lives. Get a grip, Lisa.” It’s clear that Lisa’s words aren’t sitting well with viewers, as many are left questioning how she could make such a comparison.
A fan tried to reason with her, saying, “You’re seriously defending someone who literally took advantage of the elderly? That’s worse than anything Bronwyn’s done!” Lisa, however, showed no signs of reconsidering, further frustrating viewers who feel she’s undermining the real harm caused by Jen’s actions.
This isn’t the first time Lisa has minimized Jen’s criminal actions. Last year, she controversially stated that she’d prefer to have the convicted felon return to Real Housewives of Salt Lake City over Monica Garcia.
She also made headlines when she claimed Jen was “harmless” as long as you weren’t elderly, a remark that left many viewers shaking their heads.
