James Kennedy is turning his life around, celebrating 48 days of sobriety just a month after his shocking arrest on a domestic violence charge following a heated dispute at his Burbank home.
The arrest occurred after police responded to a call about a dispute between James and his now ex-girlfriend, Ally Lewber.
Arrest logs revealed that officers were dispatched to the scene after a witness claimed James grabbed the woman, though no visible injuries were found when officers arrived. James was taken into custody and released on a $20,000 bail. It was later reported that he wouldn’t face charges for the incident.
James shared his sobriety journey on social media with a gym selfie on January 28. Clad in all black, he simply captioned the photo, “48 days sober,” giving fans an update on his progress.
This announcement follows his December arrest, which reportedly stemmed from a drunken night at Kathy Hilton’s holiday party.
The argument between James and Ally centered around his drinking, though Ally later clarified that she was not physically harmed. “I’m relieved that prosecutors decided not to file charges,” she said, adding that she fully supports James’ decision to get sober.
Despite the support, the incident strained their relationship, and Ally moved out of their shared home shortly after. She ended the relationship with him.
James addressed the situation in a public statement, expressing his commitment to change. “I am dedicated to focusing on my sobriety, personal growth, and making meaningful changes in my life,” he shared, letting his followers know he was taking steps toward a healthier future.
This isn’t James Kennedy’s first time addressing sobriety.
