Days of Our Lives spoilers are telling us who is leaving Days in 2025 with some major cast shakeups ahead. Let’s get into who’s out, who’s in, and who’s in and out this year.
Days of Our Lives 2025 Cast Exits: Rachel Blake and Other Departures
We’re looking at an upcoming exit for Roslyn Gentle as the woman in white, Rachel Blake. Now that she helped EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) by babysitting hostages Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). And Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and has been arrested, her time on Days is winding down. With Ava not pressing charges because Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) guilted her about little Rachel, we got to assume Belle Black (Martha Madison) lets Kristen’s mom go very soon. And Rachel senior slinks back to Aremid, possibly to be seen again at some point, but she should be out very soon as a 2025 exit. But she was pretty fun.
Next, we have conflicting reports when Emily O’Brien returns next week. Which character we’re going to see Monday, March 10th, is the comeback. It’s weird, it’s very divided. Some reports say it’s Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien), others say Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien). We do know that Emily is coming back as both characters this year, and one of them turns around and exits. So to me, it makes more sense for Theresa to return now because her prison stint just ended and Tate Black (currently Leo Howard) is having baby mama drama. So we will update you when we see who they list in the spoilers for next week, but for now, I expect it’s Theresa to come and then leave. And then Gwen to come and stay longer. Theresa needs to check on her son.
But when Gwen’s back, she is reportedly bringing some exciting new information. And a lot of fans hope she knows where her sister Abigail Deveraux (AnnaLynne McCord) is, because viewers really want Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn)’s wife to be not dead at all and that grave is empty.
Soap Veteran Michael Deets Joins Days of Our Lives Cast
Next, at the end of April, we’re going to see soap veteran Michael Deets in and out of Salem in an unnamed role. Fans expect to see him as a doctor because that’s what he usually plays on other soaps. So maybe he’ll be the lucky surgeon to pull that bullet out of EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) when he is shot in the chest.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Bo Brady and Hope Brady’s Return
All right, we also have Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) back in town. They’re going to stay in play for a little while starting in May 2025. Doug Williams (Bill Hayes)’ funeral last year brought back Hope, but Bo was still comatose at that point, but he was twitching his hand. So, we’re going to look for Hope to come back and stay till at least June with Bo. And we are going to get an actual storyline for Bo where these fan favorite lovers really are reunited, but then they’re going to be out again. They won’t stay too long, looks like several weeks though, and then 2025 exit.
June brings back a ton of people to Days of our Lives that are going to be in and out pretty rapidly. And these are all, you know, big signs that this could be when we are going to see John Black (Drake Hogestyn)’s funeral. The array of guest returns is lengthy. These will all be in and out, so don’t get too attached to seeing them. Among the Brady crew coming back, we’ll see Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder), Carrie Brady, Sierra Brady, and Will Horton (Chandler Massey). Other returns in June include Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Horton (Cady McClain). And Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) and Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) are heading back to Salem for a short stay.
Days of our Lives: Funeral for John Black
Also, Vivian Alamain (formerly played by Linda Dano) is back with a vague return date of spring, but her being at John’s funeral adds up since they are adopted family through the Alamain connection. And Charles Shaughnessy has scenes very soon when Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) demand answers from Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy). His son Andrew Donovan (Colton Little) is back soon to both of them exit again. And then return for John’s funeral along with Paul Narita (Christopher Sean). And all of them exit after that sad farewell.
We also know that Greg Vaughan was on hand for the 60th anniversary photo shoot. And that means that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) is also back at some point. Now, it would make a lot of sense for him to be on hand for John Black (Drake Hogestyn)’s funeral, but we haven’t seen confirmation of that, but we do know that he is back. And we’ll be filming, so more on Eric, but do not expect Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) back.
EJ DiMera and Johnny DiMera Drama: Sami Brady’s Explosive Return to Days of Our Lives
All right, next we’re going to dive into some juicy details about Alison Sweeney’s comeback. Okay, so if you didn’t know, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) is back for more than just her stepdad’s funeral. She is back for a heaping pile of EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) drama. We saw foreshadowing this week after Arnold Feniger (Galen Gering) was tasered and sent away.
Really, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) has lost way too many memories from Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (now played by Richard Wharton)’s serum. And his brain’s kind of Jell-O right now, but things are going to come out. And that the memories are going to start coming back in the weeks ahead. Johnny threatened EJ if he was working with Arnold. So, he’s done as his son, and we know Johnny finds out it’s all true, and he punches dear old dad right in the face.
And turns out, of course, Arnold raping Sami is something that Johnny knew, but he didn’t know that EJ forced himself on Sami through blackmail. Johnny is anguished over this reveal, and Sami is there for her very distraught son. That reveal comes shortly before EJ is shot. And that was foreshadowed this week when Gabby Hernandez (currently Cherie Jimenez) pulled a gun on EJ in front of witnesses. And that’s going to put Gabby on the who done it list as well.
By the way, if you’re worried about whether Dan Feuerriegel is leaving Days, ease your mind. Bad boy EJ survives the bullet and stays. Dan is still filming.
Amy Choy’s Exit and a New Legacy Character on Days of Our Lives
But in other related news, we will not have Amy Choy to deal with for much longer. Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd)’s disapproving mother should be out at Days of our Lives once Tate and Sophia’s baby is born. And probably adopted out unless something changes. That happens in a couple of months. I can’t say I’m going to miss Amy glaring at people and making judgy comments. And Sophia may also exit in 2025 as her drama with Tate wraps. But she may just slide onto the back burner and then exit next year, so we’ll see.
Towards the end of this year, we have a new guy coming to town, no name yet, but he is a legacy hire. Hank Northrup, son of recently passed away Wayne Northrup, landed a role on Days. You know, his dad played the first Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), if you don’t recall. So this new character that Hank plays is going to hit Salem. And will be heavily involved with Abe Carver (James Reynolds).
Days of Our Lives Recasts and Character Departures: Rachel Black, Sophia Choi, and More
And here’s an update on some 2025 exits that we’ve seen recently. Fallyn Rose Slater’s run as Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) ended a few weeks back. And she was very devilish in the role. I really liked her. And now we will see Alice Hye step into the role in April. We’re going to see her in and out a few times throughout 2025, appearing strictly on an as needed basis.
Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) has changed faces recently with Mykayla Kinney exiting the role and Rachel Boyd taking it on. For me, the transition was pretty much seamless. You know, now I don’t even really notice it. They did a good job with the recast. And again, Sophia is going to slide to the back burner after she drops that baby. So she may exit this year or in 2026.
And we already had some ins and outs happening with Kim Coles back for about an episode and a half as crazy Whitley King. She was revealed to be the person tormenting the actors on the set of the soap she was in and out faster than you can say thank God. Body and Soul is finally over.
DOOL Says Goodbye to Characters
We also dumped several characters in 2025 while the actors stayed in play because these were all double duty appearances. Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) is gone, G-O-N-E, gone. Arnold Feniger (Galen Gering) is gone, he has been shipped away. And we are back to rarely seeing Bonnie Kiriakis (formerly played by Judi Evans) and Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) these days now that her run on the soap within a soap ended. And he is back burner because he’s busy over on General Hospital.
