This Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX marks the first time ever that the biggest NFL game of the year will be streamed for free, via the Fox-owned streaming service Tubi. Along with the featured matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, Tubi is using the opportunity to showcase new programming and surprise content.
Remember that Super Bowl fake-out commercial from 2023 that had people yelling at each other about who changed channels? Tubi is unleashing another campaign for this year’s event, teasing the “birth of a new character” who will be introduced on game day.
A teaser clip shows a doctor saying, “Look at those little toesies,” but something tells us this isn’t tied to the brand’s rabbit symbol. In addition to a new commercial, the streamer hints that fans who watch on Feb. 9 will see another surprise or two during the event.
How do I watch Super Bowl LIX free on Tubi?
Tubi is available as an app for iPhones, iPads and Android phones and tablets. You can also use the Tubi TV app on smart TVs from companies like Samsung, Google, Amazon and Roku, or visit tubitv.com with a web browser.
One big change for Tubi’s coverage of the Super Bowl is that you’ll need to register for a Tubi account to watch Sunday’s big game. Tubi does not require registration for any of its other programming.
When does Tubi’s Super Bowl LIX coverage start?
Tubi will begin airing Fox’s Super Bowl 2025 pregame show at 11:30 a.m. ET. It will also offer its own live red carpet pre-show hosted by Olivia Culpo that starts at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Is Tubi also airing the Super Bowl halftime show?
Along with its Super Bowl game coverage, Tubi will also be streaming the halftime show starring Kendrick Lamar on Feb. 9. The timing of the performance obviously depends on the length of the first half of the game, but you can expect the big show to begin sometime around 8:00 – 8:30 p.m. ET.
What other programming is Tubi launching with its Super Bowl coverage?
When viewers tune in to Tubi’s Super Bowl coverage, they’ll be treated to choose-your-own-adventure-style programming that allows them to switch things up before, during and after the game. That includes a lead-up of content that kicked off on Jan. 28 on the NFL Channel via Tubi.
As part of its Super Bowl programming package, Tubi is also launching its new original series The Z Suite, starring Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls and executive produced by Gary Vaynerchuk.
