Jax Taylor Opens Up About His Addiction To Cocaine

Cartwright’s revelation that Taylor had entered an in-patient recovery center while filming season 2 of “The Valley” isn’t much of a surprise, considering the “House of Villains” star opened up about his stay in 2024.
In March 2025, he was even more vulnerable with audience members when he revealed he’d struggled with addiction to cocaine for nearly two decades.
During the “Hot Mic” podcast sponsored by Bravo, Taylor, who joined “VPR” in 2013, told the host candidly that he was “an addict.”
“I have substance issues—primarily with cocaine,” he explained before saying he’d been using the illicit drug since he was 23.

Cartwright discussed Taylor’s openness with the Bravosphere and admitted that she was unconvinced he’d be able to stay on the straight and arrow. According to her, she’s attempted to help the father of one many times before; however, her attempts were always met with resistance. Consequently, it’s been difficult for Cartwright to sing his praises.
“His behaviors are still alarming, and his treatment plan seems to be the bare minimum,” she added.

Taylor Says He Used To Get Rowdy While Filming

Taylor explained that he used cocaine during most of the filming for “Vanderpump Rules,” which he starred in from 2013 to 2020. During his interview, Taylor shared that he believed he was keeping his behavior concealed, “but clearly, I wasn’t,” he said.
“I thought, for the most part, that I was keeping a lot of it under the radar,” Taylor noted. “When I watch back, I’m like, ‘How big are my f-cking pupils? I’m sweating and there’s no reason to be sweating in the scene. Why am I sweating?’”
He continued, “I would go off on my own. We would film a scene, and you have 30 minutes [of] downtime, so most people go rest. I would go to a bar, get lit, or go next door from SUR, and that’s where we all went because we weren’t allowed to drink during scenes.”
More Is Coming In Season 2 Of ‘The Valley’

Taylor and Cartwright aren’t the only couple facing troubles in season 2 of “The Valley.”
Michelle Saniei and Jesse Lally are still at odds following their split at the end of season 1.
In the trailer, the estranged couple are seen engaged in several explosive arguments, including one that stemmed from Lally calling Saniei, the mother of his child, a “hooker.”
Elsewhere in the three-minute clip, cameras captured Saniei throwing a drink in Lally’s face after he asked whether she cheated on him.
“F-ck you,” she said before walking away.
