Teresa Giudice Slams ‘RHONJ’ as Toxic and Reveals She’s Happy the Show is on Pause!
Teresa Giudice is getting real about the drama behind The Real Housewives of New Jersey, admitting she needed a serious “break” from the show’s “toxic” environment—revealing how her husband, Luis Ruelas, had no interest in being dragged into the chaos.
Speaking in a January 28 interview on PIX11, the 52-year-old reality star described the show’s environment as “very toxic” and emphasized that stepping away was the best choice for her. “Yeah, it’s good. It was very toxic,” she admitted, explaining that the decision to take a break from the series felt necessary.
Teresa also addressed the ongoing rift with her brother, Joe Gorga, 50, and his wife, Melissa Gorga, 45, confirming that the estrangement was “permanent.”
“That’s a permanent break,” she stated, making it clear that her family dynamics have shifted beyond reconciliation. Despite the challenges with her relatives, Teresa is focusing on the happiness of her immediate family and her husband, Luis Ruelas, 50.
While Teresa said she feels sympathy for her husband, who was drawn into the show’s drama, she reassured fans that things have since settled down. “I feel bad for my husband because he was thrown into that, and he didn’t want no part of that,” she shared.
“Now, it’s been a while now since the craziness and the toxicity, so it’s all good now.”
When asked if she ever regretted joining the show, Teresa reflected on the changes after Joe and Melissa were added to the cast.
“The first and second season wasn’t bad. It was after that, that’s when my family came on and then that’s when, [I’m like], ‘I didn’t sign up for this,’” she admitted.
Despite taking a break from the show, she remains busy, and in a recent podcast episode, Teresa hinted that a casting call for the show is in the works, leaving fans wondering what the future holds for The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
