Teddi Mellencamp Claims She’s On Her Deathbed After Brain Tumor Diagnosis
Teddi Mellencamp is opening up about the terrifying journey that led to her multiple brain tumor diagnosis, and her best friend Tamra Judge isn’t letting her face it alone.
On the March 13 episode of their Two Ts in a Pod podcast, the Real Housewives stars shared an emotional exchange as Mellencamp, 43, reflected on her recent health struggles.
Teddi’s Symptoms and Emergency Hospital Visit
Mellencamp recalled experiencing severe migraines and mental fog before she was rushed to the hospital after her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, feared she might be suffering from a brain hemorrhage.
After undergoing a CT scan, doctors discovered multiple brain tumors, a shocking diagnosis that left Mellencamp reeling.
As she processed the devastating news, Judge, 57, shared the emotional text message exchange they had shortly after.
“I don’t know if it [was] just me or I was in the group text, but you said to me, ‘You all thought I was mental, but actually, I’m on my deathbed,’” Judge recalled, her voice breaking.
“And I remember texting you back and said, ‘No, you’re not, because if you’re on yours, then I’m on mine, because I can’t live without you.’”
Teddi’s Battle with Brain Tumors
On February 12, Mellencamp announced on Instagram that after suffering from “severe and debilitating headaches” for weeks, doctors discovered multiple tumors growing in her brain for at least six months.
Following her diagnosis, four tumors were surgically removed, but doctors later found three additional tumors in her brain and two more in her lungs.
Despite the ongoing battle, Mellencamp remains determined. She shared that she is starting radiation on March 17 and will also undergo immunotherapy treatments every three weeks.
Teddi Describes the Pain Leading Up to Her Diagnosis
During the podcast, Mellencamp reflected on the excruciating pain she endured before seeking medical attention.
“I was at a horse show. I remember going to my friend Nicole like, ‘I have the worst migraine I’ve ever had in my entire life,’” she said.
She recalled struggling to speak properly and experiencing severe shaking and confusion.
“I started shaking really bad, and I didn’t know where I was,” she admitted.
Despite taking migraine medication, her symptoms persisted for days and worsened over time.
“I remember being in such extreme pain. I could barely walk. I couldn’t see. I didn’t wanna do anything,” she explained.
“I honestly didn’t know what to do because everything in my life was upside down.”
Teddi’s Regret and Message to Others
Mellencamp revealed that her brain tumors were caused by melanoma that had spread, and she regrets not listening to her body sooner.
“I wish the second that I felt those headaches, I wish the second that I started not feeling like myself, I would have gone to the doctor and gotten checked,” she said.
Now, as she prepares for the next phase of treatment, Mellencamp remains hopeful.
“I’m feeling really positive,” she shared, determined to fight her diagnosis head-on.
Through it all, Judge has remained a constant source of support, proving that their friendship is stronger than ever.
