Shamea Morton Says Porsha Williams Disrespected Her New Song on RHOA and Calls Her Reaction Hurtful!
Shamea Morton is opening up about the shift in her longtime friendship with Porsha Williams following a tense moment on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
On a recent episode, the RHOA cast gathered for dinner at Angela Oakley’s event, where Shamea played her new single for the group—only to be questioned by Porsha about whether the song belonged to Drew Sidora.
Shamea addressed the moment on her YouTube channel, admitting it was hurtful to have her own best friend question her music. “People are talking over it, not respecting my music. That was hurtful, especially seeing as though Porsha’s a good friend of mine,” she said.
“Why would I be playing Drew’s song when I’ve been singing since I was able to talk?”
The singer added, “I’m promoting my own music. This is what I do,” confirming the conversation would come up again later in the season.
Meanwhile, Porsha weighed in on the status of their friendship during a recent Instagram Live Q&A. After Kandi Burruss hinted that the two are no longer close, Porsha confirmed, “We’re not as cool as we used to be. And yes, that’s true.”
Though she didn’t reveal the exact cause of their fallout, Porsha suggested things began to shift after Shamea joined the show full-time. “When you come on a show and you have certain expectations and then things seem to turn on you — without you knowing — that can change any relationship,” she said.
Fans also noted that Porsha didn’t promote Shamea’s new single, unlike the other cast members. In response, Porsha explained, “Well, she didn’t send it to me to post.”
Shamea later told Way Up with Angela Yee that she’s always tried to be the most loyal friend possible, even when it’s not reciprocated.
“Sometimes that’s a fault of mine,” she admitted. “But I just continue to show up and be the person I know how to be.”
