Dave Quinn, Joe Sacco and Ty Hennes are in the process of joining Mike Sullivan’s staff, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Thursday.
Sullivan joined the Rangers after agreeing to part ways with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He takes over from Peter Laviolette, who was fired after missing the playoffs.
Quinn returns to New York after spending three seasons as head coach before getting fired in 2021. He went on to coach the San Jose Sharks for three seasons before joining Sullivan’s staff in Pittsburgh as an assistant last year.
Sacco took over as the interim coach for the Boston Bruins after Jim Montgomery was fired in November, finishing with a 25-30-7 record. He had been with the Bruins since 2014.
Hennes has worked with Sullivan on the Penguins coaching staff since 2018 as a skills coach before getting promoting to assistant in 2022.
