PK Demands Joint Custody of Kids as Divorce with Dorit Kemsley Turns Messy!
Paul Kemsley is pushing back on estranged wife Dorit Kemsley’s request for sole custody — and making it clear he wants to remain a hands-on parent.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spouse filed a legal response to Dorit’s April 25 divorce filing, requesting joint legal and physical custody of their two children, 11-year-old Jagger and 9-year-old Phoenix.
The filing, obtained by Page Six, also reveals that PK is waiving his right to spousal support and asking the court to reject Dorit’s request for the same. In addition to their custody disagreement, Paul asked that each party be responsible for their own legal fees and court costs.
While both cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, the filing highlights a growing divide between the former couple, who were married for nine years and did not have a prenuptial agreement in place, according to TMZ.
The divorce filing comes on the heels of PK’s public PDA moment with The Amazing Race alum Shana Wall, which quickly drew media attention. Days later, Dorit made her move, filing to legally end their marriage — and kicking off what now appears to be a contentious custody battle.
Dorit, 48, and PK, 57, announced their separation in May 2024 after months of speculation about their marriage.
In a joint statement posted to Instagram, the pair said, “We as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage. We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together.”
Their statement went on to explain that they had made a “mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart,” and expressed their desire to “maintain a harmonious environment” for their children.
That harmony now seems harder to maintain as legal proceedings move forward.
The Kemsleys‘ relationship woes were well-documented on Season 14 of RHOBH, where tensions between the pair were evident. With the divorce and custody matters unfolding in real time, it’s likely that fans will continue to watch the fallout play out both in court and on screen.
