Marc-André Fleury’s remarkable NHL career has officially come to an end.

During the post-game handshake line, Wild fans began serenading the goalie with “Fleury, Fleury!” chants before he skated around the Xcel Energy Center ice one last time as the Golden Knights tapped their sticks and the chants got louder.

“He’s one of a kind,” said Vegas defenceman and Fleury’s former teammate Shea Theodore, per The Athletic’s Joe Smith.

Fleury, also known as “Flower”, spent his first 13 seasons in Pittsburgh after being selected first overall in the 2003 draft. He then backstopped Vegas to a Stanley Cup Finals appearance in its inaugural 2017-18 season.

Thursday put the cap on Fleury’s illustrious career that includes three Stanley Cups (2007, ’16, ’17), a Vezina Trophy, the second-most regular season wins in NHL history (575) and the fourth-most playoff wins (92).

The 40-year-old also spent part of the 2021-22 season in Chicago before joining Minnesota, where he continued to lead by example both on and off the ice.

Fleury announced his retirement following the 2025 campaign after signing a one-year extension in April 2024.
