Many Called Out The Low Quality Video
![Police in the US have released video footage from the set of the film Rust, including of the aftermath of the fatal shooting of a cinematographer by actor Alec Baldwin. Halyna Hutchins, 42, was shot by Mr Baldwin while he rehearsed with what he believed to be a safe gun. Footage, which has no audio, released shows Baldwin dressed as a cowboy rehearsing with a gun ahead of the deadly shooting. He can be seen in stills from that video posing with the gun, and with ammo / ammunition on his costume in a scene set in a church. A clapper board with Ms Hutchins' name on it can also be seen. It's not known if the gun he is holding is the one that fired the deadly bullets. The actor, who was also a producer on the film, previously said he did not pull the trigger and had no idea how a live bullet came to be on the set near Santa Fe in the US state of New Mexico. The Santa Fe County sheriff’s office released a trove of documents released to the investigation this week. 26 Apr 2022 Pictured: Alec Baldwin seen in stills from video footage of Rust rehearsals released by investigators in the US. Other viewers were surprised to see the trailer released with such low quality visuals. “A camera operator died making this and all you can do is upload a 720p version of her work?” one user asked.
“Looks like a high school student film,” another viewer wrote.
“Looks like a student film. Cliché and old,” another agreed.

Are People Actually Going To Watch ‘Rust’?

Although one user said it looked like an “awkward, uncomfortable watch,” another viewer actually gave the film some serious consideration.
“Alright, all jokes and meanness aside, I am going to make a serious comment here: The premise, the setting, the story actually seems to be up my alley for the type of movie that would appeal to me,” one viewer wrote. “This should be something I would look forward to watching, but I’ll never watch it, or anything with Alec Baldwin.”
“I won’t pay to see this, I’ll pass it up when it is free on streaming, if Amazon accidentally sent me a DVD and told me I could keep it, I would throw it in the trash with the cellophane intact,” they continued. “Alec is at the top of a growing list of actors whose work I will boycott, forever.”
Alec Baldwin Will Not Face Jail Time For His Role In Her Death

Although there were a few calls for the “Beetlejuice” actor to face jail time for his role in Halyna Hutchins’ death, the trial has already come and gone. Baldwin was on trial in July 2024, facing a single charge of involuntary manslaughter that would have landed him a maximum of 18 months behind bars if convicted.

However, on the third day of the trial, the judge dismissed the charges against him with prejudice after she concluded that the prosecution had committed a Brady violation by withholding important evidence from the defense. In this case, it was bullets that were turned over to the police following the trial of armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. These bullets were filed under a different case number and were never disclosed to Baldwin’s legal team until a witness admitted to their existence during their testimony.
Although Baldwin will no longer face criminal charges for the death of Halyna Hutchins, the armorer was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and is currently serving her 18-month sentence.
