Julia Fox is no stranger to making headlines, but her latest revelation is sure to leave many stunned and introspective.

In a brutally honest moment, the actress admitted that many of the cosmetic procedures she once celebrated were actually done for one reason: to please men.

Now, she’s pulling back the curtain and confronting the painful reality behind her former mindset.

Fox is known for her unapologetic honesty, but her recent confession might be her most vulnerable yet.

During an interview with Allure, she openly admitted she went under the knife because she believed her survival depended on pleasing men.

“It’s super important when you become famous or a public figure to be transparent. Now, when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never done anything … I wish I could go back and be that person. I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive,” she said, explaining how deeply those expectations impacted her mindset.

Fox, who has previously admitted to undergoing procedures including Botox, liposuction, veneers, and even a rhinoplasty, stressed that the decision wasn’t about vanity, but desperation.

While she admitted she may get more work done in the future, she now acknowledges she’s less focused on trying to fit into someone else’s ideal and more interested in accepting herself on her own terms.

Alongside her regrets about cosmetic surgery, the “Uncut Gems” star opened up about what she called her biggest fear: getting older.

She spoke candidly about the insecurity that still lingers, even after coming to terms with her past choices.

“That’s what I think I’m the most scared of, feeling old,” she explained, confessing that there are days she feels exhausted and worn out by the pressure.

She also acknowledged the trap many women in Hollywood fall into, believing their youth and beauty are their only value. Fox admitted that when you’re “young and hot,” it becomes your identity. That mindset, she shared, can lead women down a dangerous path of endless enhancements.

Rather than chasing how she used to look, Fox now wants to explore what it means to evolve. “I just want to see who’s there waiting for me,” she reflected, acknowledging that the journey won’t be easy, but she’s finally ready for it.

Fox hasn’t just turned the mirror on herself, but she is also challenging the entire industry to be more honest.

Speaking to PEOPLE earlier this year, she praised celebrities who admit to their cosmetic work, saying, “I love it. I think we should be honest.”

She argued that unrealistic beauty standards only hurt young women who are comparing themselves to impossible ideals.

Fox warned that by hiding fillers, surgery, and photo editing, public figures are setting a harmful precedent.

She noted, “It’s like, girl, none of us look like this, you know what I mean? Like we all look really different without the surgery and without the fillers and without the makeup and all the things we do and the face tapes and the wigs and the tanning creams. The list goes on. On and on and on.”

While some critics have slammed her as attention-seeking, she insists her style is a form of art.

“To a New Yorker, [my style] is normal,” she told Allure, adding that those who mock it are often unfamiliar with performance art, theater, and fashion history.

She believes the backlash says more about the audience than it does about her.

Fox bluntly pointed out that some people react negatively because they simply don’t understand it. In her words, “art is supposed to be polarizing,” and she’s not interested in pleasing everyone.

Every outfit, she explained, tells a story and allows her to “play that character,” which is why she refuses to tone it down for public acceptance.

She concluded, “The way people identify you is very much based on their perception of themselves, and people are going to look at you and take whatever they will.”
