The Horrible Bosses actor and Aniston have been friends for decades, with Aniston paying tribute to Bateman when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017.
“The part that I’m the luckiest that I get to witness is Jason Bateman the husband, the father, the fantastic friend and, as we lovingly call him, the grandfather,” she said during her speech.
Bateman, his wife, Amanda Anka, and their daughters, Francesca and Maple, are also frequent guests at Aniston’s dinner parties. The Ozark star told Vanity Fair that he and their friends convinced Aniston, a lover of Mexican cuisine, to expand her horizons.
“She stumbled upon a burger that is almost identical to the In-N-Out burger,” Bateman said, referring to the California fast food chain. “She actually found some company to print up a bunch of the papers that are wrapped around the burgers with ‘Jen-N-Out’ on it. It looks exactly like the logo. You can either have the beef or chicken, the lettuce or a bun around it. Then usually one of us will bring dessert.”
Bateman also opened up about Aniston’s relationship with his and Anka’s children.
“She almost makes us parents look bad because she’s so incredibly attentive and consistent with her curiosity and warmth,” he explained. “She’s the first one to call or text about big dates in the girls’ lives. She has questions about boyfriends.”
Bateman continued, “Aunts you might not see all the time. She’s almost closer to a co-mom with Amanda. She’s been a part of their lives from the moment they were born. It is odd for them to even understand the public Jennifer Aniston.”
