Former RHOBH Producer Praises Garcelle Beauvais as One of the Housewifes Who Didn’t Treat Crew Like Trash!
Garcelle Beauvais’ departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has sparked plenty of reaction — both from fans and those who worked closely with her on the show.
After announcing her exit from the Bravo series on March 25, 2025, Garcelle received an outpouring of support, including from a former RHOBH producer who praised her for putting family first and maintaining grace behind the scenes.
Patrick McDonald, a producer who worked on RHOBH, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram applauding Garcelle’s professionalism and character.
“I just wanna touch quickly on Garcelle announcing her departure on the show. Because I’ve seen some widely negative things said about her online,” he began. “I could go on for days about what a pleasure Garcelle was to work with.”
He continued by highlighting the true test of character in reality TV: “If you really want to measure the character of a Real Housewife, ask the crew members who they like to shoot with the most. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat the people that they think can do nothing for them.”
Patrick revealed that Garcelle was a favorite among the crew. “Any morning when the crew found out that we were spending the day with Garcelle, they were ecstatic,” he shared. “And they most definitely do not feel that way about all of the ladies on the show.”
Garcelle, 57, confirmed she would not return for Season 15, citing her desire to focus more on her teenage twin sons, Jaid and Jax.
But sources say her decision also stemmed from tension during the Season 14 reunion, where she allegedly felt “ambushed” by her castmates and chose to walk off set.
Despite the reunion fallout, Patrick emphasized his admiration for Garcelle’s decision. “I’m so proud of Garcelle for prioritizing her life over a television show,” he added.
Garcelle joined RHOBH in Season 10, making history as the franchise’s first Black Housewife. Her departure leaves a noticeable gap in the cast as Bravo moves forward with a retooled Season 15 lineup.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
