Bold and the Beautiful: Liam Spencer with One Foot in the Grave

Bold and the Beautiful is getting some bang-up acting out of Scott Clifton, who plays Liam Spencer on the soap. Liam has turned into a fountain, spouting off his new philosophy as he faces a death sentence.

This storyline also gives Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who plays Steffy Forrester, a stage to show off her wonderful acting skills. But the question in many viewers’ minds today is… where is Liam Spencer’s death sentence headed?

Some fans think Bold and the Beautiful plans a miracle save for Liam like they did for Eric Forrester (John McCook) a while back. It wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if the soap plays this plot out for weeks to get all the bang for their buck with death hovering over Liam.

But then, just as everyone is resigned to Liam’s fate as death, Bold and the Beautiful could toss in a miracle save. But maybe this isn’t just for drama – Bold might have another agenda for pushing Liam closer to his maker.

B&B: Liam Dying – But Does He Have To?

Bold and the Beautiful viewers know Liam Spencer is dying from an inoperable brain tumor. But we don’t know why B&B is taking this journey with Liam. If Scott Clifton is leaving the soap, then this is one way to do it. But so far, we haven’t heard anything about the actor’s exit.

Still, if the actor was getting ready to jump off the soap, why would Bold and Beautiful kill off the character? Liam Spencer has been an important main player for many years.

But over the past several months, the soap has kept him on the back burner. Up until his death diagnosis, he just had a few scenes here and there that didn’t lead to much of a storyline for him.

So, instead of killing him off, why wouldn’t they just give the part to another actor? Or at least leave him alive to have that option of a replacement in the future.

Bold and the Beautiful: Is Death Diagnosis the Easiest Way to Hit Refresh?

Bold and the Beautiful might have Liam Spencer’s death more about Steffy Forrester and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) than about their one-time waffler. These two ladies have taken their disdain for each other far enough. The next step could only be a knock-down-bang-out bloody brawl between the two.

So, maybe the soap wants to dial it back a bit. But so much anger has passed between the two for the soap to flip the switch and quickly make them friends. Unless, of course, you have a switch like no other that could instantly change them. And… maybe Liam’s death watch is just that.

This week, Steffy already has empathy for Hope, so much so that she went behind Liam’s back to tell the Logan daughter that he is dying. So, while that olive branch brings doom and gloom, it is an olive branch nevertheless that Steffy held out to Hope.

B&B: Hope Logan and Steffy Forrester Painted into a Corner

Next it is Hope’s turn on Bold and Beautiful to do something to indicate her anger for Steffy is melting. Steffy and Hope painted themselves into a corner where anger and nastiness toward each other was all they had between them. But ironically, Liam’s dying throws that relationship a lifeline.

So, maybe Bold and the Beautiful scripted this Liam Spencer dying storyline so they could fix the awful relationship between Hope Logan and Steffy Forrester. The soap’s fans would probably find a friendship between these two women refreshing… for a little while anyway.

So after all Hope and Steffy’s ups and downs through the years, it’s possible B&B scripted Liam’s pending death only to reboot Steffy and Hope’s relationship. Maybe they will bring these ladies back to cordial or even beyond, like besties. And once they are in a good place, either Liam dies or that miracle saves him on the CBS soap.
