MANILA, Philippines — It’s been quite some time since Almond Vosotros stepped foot in a PBA game.
So on Friday, when he was given another crack with TNT at Araneta Coliseum against Northport, Vosotros showed why he belonged in the league in the first place.

“We knew that we would need him here because we’ve lost Jielo Razon due to appendicitis, so he underwent surgery last week, and we figured that Almond could be a big help, so we’re very thankful for him,” said coach Chot Reyes after their 94-70 win over the Batang Pier.
“He already has a vacation to Japan. He already bought the ticket, booked all the hotels with his whole family—his wife and his two kids. He canceled that just to have this opportunity, so this is really a big sacrifice for him, and we’re very thankful,” added Reyes.
Vosotros played like he hadn’t lost that pep in his step.
Despite playing just 17 minutes for the Tropang 5G in his first PBA game since not having his contract renewed after the recently concluded PBA Commissioner’s Cup title run, Vosotros finished with 12 points and two rebounds built on four buckets from beyond the arc.
Vosotros’ efforts also helped TNT rise to its fifth straight win after beginning the season with three straight losses.
For the La Salle product, though, it’s just making the most out of his given opportunity.
“Like what Coach said, since I wasn’t with TNT, I became more motivated to not let myself down because anytime soon, someone might call me,” said Vosotros.
“That’s what I always pray for, a second chance. Now, I don’t want to miss the opportunity that’s right in front of me.”
TNT hopes to continue tapping Vosotros’ services as they wait for the pending approval of the Mikey Williams-Jordan Heading trade with Converge on Friday when it faces Blackwater at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
