Trisha Tubu fires 33 as Farm Fresh downs Galeries

MANILA, Philippines–Trisha Tubu erupted for a career-high 33 points to lift Farm Fresh over Galeries Tower 28-26, 17-25, 25-19, 25-17, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Thursday night at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Foxies improved to a 4-4 standing, similar with Akari and ZUS Coffee, which clinched its biggest win yet after toppling Chery Tiggo earlier in the day.

Alyssa Bertolano contributed 11 points, four off aces, other than 12 excellent receptions while Jolina dela Cruz provided 10 points with Louie Romero orchestrating the offense from 19 excellent sets.

“Ako po naman is yung tiwala ko talaga sa coaches namin. Unang-una sa sistema namin and sa mga kasama ko talaga dun,” Tubu said after carving the career performance from 28 attacks, four aces and a block to help Farm Fresh to the bounce back win.

“Sabi kasi nila sakin nasa likod ko lang sila so wag ako magalala kaya nagtiwala lang ako sa kanila tsaka sa sistema namin and sa decision-making ng coaches namin,” Tubu added.

The game also marked the return of veteran hitter Rachel Anne Daquis, who came off the bench in the first two frames to end up with just a point.

With the return of Daquis, Farm Fresh’s roster is slowly being completed as Dela Cruz also just returned from an injury-induced break.

Farm Fresh took a 15-9 lead early in the final frame before Dela Cruz’s off-the-block hit followed by back-to-back errors by Galeries made it, 22-16.

Tubu then, finished the match with two consecutive kills.

Ysa Jimenez paced the highrisers with 15 points, all from attacks, while Andrea Marzan added 10 points. Julia Coronel tossed in 13 excellent sets for Galeries Tower, which dropped its seventh game in eight outings.

Farm Fresh tests its improved roster against PLDT next on Tuesday while Galeries Tower looks for a second win against winless Nxled on Feb. 8, both still at Philsports Arena.
