Gypsy Rose Blanchard marked a new milestone in her early days as a mother — her first date night since giving birth to her daughter, Aurora.

Gypsy and her man, Ken Urker, welcomed their baby girl at the end of December, officially announcing her arrival on New Year’s Day. In his heartfelt Instagram post, Ken described Aurora as “the greatest gift of all.”

As for Gypsy Rose Blanchard, she appears to be thriving in her new role as a mother.

On Sunday, Gypsy shared a glimpse of her first night out as a new mom, posting a sweet photo with Ken on Instagram. The couple enjoyed some quality one-on-one time, dressed in matching navy and white outfits.

“First date night after having our baby @kenurker,” Gypsy captioned the post, which garnered praise from fans for her glowing look and positive energy.

“I’m so happy for you. Enjoy your night,” one of her followers commented.

“Aww gonna miss your blonde hair, but your beautiful no matter what!” a third pointed out.

While Gypsy and Ken are basking in the joy of parenthood, their journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Gypsy’s pregnancy was first announced amid her divorce from her first husband, Ryan Anderson, whom she married in 2022 while incarcerated for her role in the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.

But, the drama didn’t stop there.

Last week, Gypsy addressed rumors that Child Protective Services had conducted a welfare check on Aurora. She firmly denied the claims, reassuring fans that her daughter is “safe and healthy.” Gypsy also proudly declared she’s “rock’n it as a mom,” shutting down any speculation about her parenting.

“Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us had a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” Gypsy explained. “In 2018, we wrote each other’s future kid’s name on pieces of paper, and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing the other was picking it.”

The couple, who first dated in 2017, separated in 2019, and during their time apart, Gypsy thought the dream of having a daughter named Aurora might never come true. However, after reconnecting in 2023, that dream was reignited.

“When we had broken up [it was like], ‘Oh, Aurora is never going to be born,’” Gypsy shared. “A lot of people think the origin of the name is one thing, but they don’t know that little story.”

The couple is now planning an unforgettable trip to see the Northern Lights in person as a way to honor the name they’ve cherished for years. “Someday we’re going to see it,” Gypsy said. “After I’m off parole, we’re going to go to Sweden.”

Gypsy and Ken’s journey to parenthood hasn’t been without its challenges. The two originally dated for two years while Gypsy was behind bars. “We have a long history. We first dated back in 2017 … then separated for four and a half years,” she explained during an interview on Radio Andy’s “Andy Cohen Live.”

During their time apart, Gypsy married Ryan Anderson while still incarcerated. However, after her release, she realized the marriage wasn’t what she wanted and filed for divorce. Shortly after reconnecting with Ken, the couple learned they were expecting their first child.

“It’s kind of been a journey,” Gypsy admitted.

For Gypsy, the arrival of her daughter represents a triumph over her past. Reflecting on her difficult upbringing with her late mother, Dee Dee, Gypsy opened up about the significance of starting her own family.

“My mother always told me I was never going to get married, raise a family, have kids, or do any of that,” Gypsy said in an interview with PEOPLE. “So, to be here, standing on my own two feet and expecting my first baby, that’s something I’ve reached as an achievement and a personal goal.”

She added, “The way my mother parented me is definitely not the way I’m going to be. We always say for the next generation, we want to be better than we were raised, and for me, I think that couldn’t be any more truthful.”
