Teddi Mellencamp Questions if Divorce Was a Mistake Amid Alleged Affair with Horse Trainer!
Teddi Mellencamp is left wondering if filing for divorce was a “mistake” as she grapples with loneliness and rumors of her alleged affair being the real cause behind the split.
After 13 years of marriage to Edwin Arroyave, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum filed for divorce in November 2024, and in a January 16 episode of her Diamonds in the Rough podcast, she shared her raw feelings.
“There’s moments that I’m feeling now, where I feel really lonely and I don’t know if those loneliness feelings mean that I’ve made a mistake or this is just something I have to get used to,” Teddi admitted, her voice breaking with emotion.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so embarrassed I’m getting emotional, but that it is such a confusing part of all of this.”
Teddi, who shares three children with Edwin, has been candid about the challenges of this life change. She also acknowledged the feelings of shame that have been weighing on her, especially as she grapples with the complexities of her situation.
“It’s a constant ache that I’m trying to, like, fake my way through,” she said, before psychotherapist Dr. Nadine Macaluso brought up the subject of shame. “So much shame,” Teddi responded, underscoring the emotional strain she’s facing.
In a November 2024 post, Teddi made her split public, explaining her decision to divorce.
“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter,” she wrote, adding that she felt a public statement was necessary to protect her family from speculation and rumors.
Teddi’s divorce has sparked plenty of conversation, particularly surrounding rumors of an affair with married horse trainer Simon Schroeder.
While she has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, she addressed them on her Two Ts in a Pod podcast. “I’m sure everyone has seen everything all over the worldwide web,” she said.
“What I can say, which I’m trying very … there’s multiple sides to every story.” She went on to say, “I’m not going to confirm or deny anything, but there’s many people involved,” leaving fans wondering about the true story behind her separation.
