A professional football club in Bulgaria was forced to apologise after mourning a player who is not dead.
Arda Kardzhali marked the death of Petko Ganchev ahead of their game against Levski Sofia at the weekend.
Players from both teams lined up on either side of the halfway line, stood arm in arm and bowed their heads before kick-off.

Spectators in the crowd were asked to do the same.
However it was barely an hour later – when the game was still in progress – that Arda Kardzhali posted to the club’s Facebook page.

“The management of PFC Arda would like to express a huge apology to the former Arda player Petko Ganchev and his relatives after the club received wrong information about his death,” the club wrote.
“We wish Petko Ganchev many more years of good health and to enjoy the success of Arda.”
They are not the first organisation to mistakenly mourn a person who was still alive.
The AFL last year awkwardly farewelled Richmond legend Michael Porter during the Brownlow Medal ceremony.
Porter was actually at home watching the broadcast of the night, and was shocked to see his image and named flash up as deceased.
