In a recent interview with Metro, Bill Skarsgård recently gave us a little insight into what we can expect from the killer inter dimensional dancing clown named Pennywise. He initially spoke about the already planned sequel and it sounds like we will dive a bit deeper into who Pennywise is:
I am attached to it but that’s all I can say, we’re in the early stages and I’m talking to [IT director Andy Muschietti] about it and figuring out what it will be. It’s a different story but I’m excited to delve in deeper to the character as there’s more exploration for who Pennywise is.
Skarsgård’s also went on to speak about what we can expect from the current film and the journey that we will witness from the character of Pennywise:
There is depth and a change in Pennywise from the first scene to the last and there’s a journey there, and I’m glad you said that and it resonated with you – that’s exactly what I want people to feel, “wait a minute what is this thing?” And I think that’s what I wanted and that’s where I want to go for the second one, to delve into the psychological and metaphysical spaces of this transdimensional being.

Though rumor had it, creator Stephen King wasn’t impressed with the early screenings of ‘IT,’ that has apparently all changed. King, recently spoke to Bloody Disgusting and gushed about how great the film was:
“I had hopes, but I was not prepared for how good it really was. It’s something that’s different, and at the same time, it’s something that audiences are gonna relate to. They’re gonna like the characters. To me, it’s all about character. If you like the characters… if you care… the scares generally work.”
“I’m sure my fans will enjoy the movie. I think they’re gonna really enjoy the movie. And I think some of them will go back two or three times and actually savor the thing. I went back and saw it a second time, and I felt I was seeing things the second time through that I missed the first time.”
