The 2025 NFL schedule starts on Thursday, September 4th, 2025. It is customary for the Super Bowl winner of the previous season to play in the game. The Philadelphia Eagles play in the opening game of the season. As schedules and opponents are firmed up, we will have all of the printable 2025 NFL schedules for you no matter which of the 32 teams that you root for. 

When does the 2025 NFL Preseason Start?

The 2025 NFL Preseason schedule starts with the annual NFL Hall of Fame Game. Canton, Ohio is the host site for the matchup that occurs on Thursday, July 31st, 2025. The remaining preseason games will be scheduled following this game. Each team will play a total of three games again this season like in 2024. 

Flex Scheduling for the 2025 NFL Schedule

Another year of flex scheduling for the 2025 NFL schedule. During weeks it can be used, you will need to check the schedules for the games closer to game day to ensure you don’t miss anything. Between NFL weeks 5 through 10 the league can implement changes twice. From weeks 11 through 17 they can modify the schedules to maximize good matchups in prime time as many times as they deem fit. Similarly discretion applies for Monday Night Football between weeks 12 through 17. 

The NFL is using a scheduling rule to minimize the total change in time for fans. Only Sunday afternoon games (or those that are TBD entirely) can be shifted to Sunday Night or Monday Night football. When this occurs, the originally scheduled game will swap places. The NFL reserves the right to shift games around within the Sunday afternoon schedule as well. They can take place at 1 PM, 4:05 PM , or 4:30 PM eastern time. As we get more updates, we’ll keep you posted. 

2025 NFL International Game Schedule

The 2025 NFL International game schedule sees a total of seven games across five countries. These locations include: England, Germany, Ireland, Brazil, and Spain. Cities that are confirmed to host the games are: London, Berlin, Madrid, and São Paulo. The teams already selected to play in London are: the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, and Jacksonville Jaguars. If you plan on traveling for any of these games, make sure you secure your tickets early.

The following are the key dates for the 2025 NFL schedule leading up to the first game of the season.

• Franchise tag window opens: Feb. 18
• NFL combine: Feb. 24 to March 3
• Franchise tag window closes: March 4
• NFL legal tampering begins: March 10
• NFL free agency, new league year: March 12
• NFL league meetings: March 30 to April 2
• Offseason workouts begin (for teams with new HCs): April 7
• Restricted free agent offer sheet deadline: April 18
• Offseason workouts begin (for teams with returning HCs): April 21
• NFL draft: April 24 to April 26
• Fifth-year option deadline for 2022 first-round picks: May 1
• Rookie minicamps: May 2-5 or May 9-12
• NFL schedule release: Mid-May (May 13th, 14th, or 15th)
• Spring league meeting: May 20 to May 21
• June 1 cuts: June 1
• Franchise tag extension deadline: July 15
• Training camp opens: Mid-to-Late July
• NFL preseason begins: Early August
• NFL roster cutdown: Late August
• Opening Night of the 2025 NFL Regular Season: September 4th, 2025

When is the 2025 NFL Schedule Release?

A question that comes up a lot is when is the 2025 NFL schedule release? The league has not officially confirmed the date yet. They will typically not interfere with the NFL Draft and all of the press that goes with the teams and the players being drafted. The word on the street is the league is looking to release the schedules on either May 13th, 14th, or 15th. We’ll see. The 2024 NFL schedule release was on May 15th, 204. Our guess would be May 14th, 2025. Once we know more, we’ll update you here.

If you want to see the complete 2025-26 NFL TV schedule, we will post that for you as soon as it is available. We can expect to see the streaming footprint of games continue to expand. Prime TV will continue with Thursday Night Football coverage, NETFLIX is in the mix, and more. This is in addition to any packages that you order through YouTube TV or Fubo.
